This jaunty Retro corsage brooch is from Boucher. A sparkling rhinestone flower is wrapped in a sterling silver gilt "ribbon," tied in an ebullient bow. The flower's center is a white rhinestone pav??, and its petals are emerald-cut green rhinestones. Bright white stones accent the ribbon and the flower's stem. This charming and collectible piece is signed with the coveted MB mark for Marcel Boucher. Circa 1940.
Marcel Boucher was one of the 20th Century's finest costume jewelry makers. Born in Paris in 1898. After the end of World War I, he apprenticed at Cartier. He transferred to New York City in the 1920s, where he became fascinated with costume jewelry's endless possibilities. Boucher's pieces were famed for looking real and following the fashions of the day.
